First World War Memorial Appeal

Fifty men from Menston with Woodhead (Including those who were working at the Asylum) lost their lives in the First World War. To see the list of those who died click here.

It is proposed to commemorate them with a Memorial Stone alongside that of the existing Second World War Sandstone, which is situated outside Kirklands Community Hall, Menston.

The exact design and scale of the Memorial has yet to be finalised but it is hoped that the people of Menston Village will partially subsidise this. To this end, it is intended to arrange fund raising activities in the very near future.

If anyone has any good ideas for raising funds and/or would be willing to lend a hand, please contact either:-

Mrs Judith Knaggs Tel: 01943 879290

OR

Cllr Dale Smith Tel: 07801 669780 or email: dale.smith @ bradford.gov.uk

Should you wish to make a donation please contact either of the above. Cheques can be made payable to the MCA Memorial Appeal.

Thank You
