Post Office News

The 13 May is an important one for all of us. It is the day that the Post Office announces which branches it intends closing and starts the consultation process.

It is vital that we all visit our Post Office on that day for details. Remember that if our Post office is not named in the first list of closures it is still not safe as we understand that for every successful appeal another Post Office previously not scheduled for closure will be put at risk.

Your local newspaper

My name is Andrea Hardaker and I'm a reported with the Wharfedale Observer/Ilkley Gazette.

We are always looking for good stories from the Menston area and I'm appealing for locals to get in touch with me.

I do try to get round the village at least once a week to see what's happening but it's not always easy - I work part-time and deadlines are tight. I also try to attend the Neighbourhood Forums and am always willing to help out with local issues if possible.

Interested parties should contact the club secretary, John Bradley, on 01943 875 417. Alternatively, contact Nick Thornton (1st team captain) on 01943 877 342 or Paul Smith (2nd team captain) on 01132 565 912.
