Local policing team to be strengthened Below is a response from Inspector Sue Sanderson of the Ilkley Police Station, relating to the local policing team: I can confirm that the dedicated policing team for Wharfedale is currently at it's previous level (the officer who moved to Keighley has already been replaced) and will shortly be increased by one officer who is currently in training. We also have a dedicated Sergeant. |

Increase in metal theftsThe Neighbourhood Policing team are reporting an increase in metal thefts in the area, in particular the theft of lead from both domestic and commercial roofs. This is largely due to the increase in the price of scrap metals including lead and copper - thieves who may well have broken into cars etc in the past are finding that lead/copper currently brings a higher price. |
