Front Page Menston In Bloom Blooming Great!

Blooming great!

Planters at St Peters WayThe village responded wonderfully to our request to tidy frontages ... so we were looking our best for the Yorkshire In Bloom judges on 8th April. They commented particularly on the lack of litter.   They were also impressed on their visit to the Primary School where they heard about the School winning a grant from Yorkshire Water entitled  "A Million Green Fingers". This grant is to encourage pupils to grow their own food, eat healthily and exercise more. Thanks to everyone for their efforts.

Summer judging is on 22nd July.

Garden on Main StreetIn February, with the help of Northern Rails Regional Manager, we tidied the borders at the entrance to the station.  In May we will undertake further planting in the Railway Garden at the Station Road/ A65 Junction.

We are holding a Strawberry Tea and Plant Sale on Saturday 7th June at 23 Park Road. All welcome, including Children.

New helpers are always welcome,  please phone Rosemary or Quentin on 01943 876 625.
