Library volunteers DBS process

27/02/2017

To meet the criteria expected of volunteers by BMDC, it is necessary for each volunteer to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service application form and authorisation form for a search of criminal records. This process is necessary as volunteers will be dealing with vulnerable people, young and old, and there are also data protection issues.

Peter Finlay and others will be in the library on Thursday 2 March from 10am-3pm and 5pm-6.45pm. All volunteers are asked to complete a pro forma of the DBS form and return it to Peter, either electronically (pfinlay0@aol.com), which would be preferable, or by posting at 43 Main Street. This will speed up the process on Thursday.

You will have to bring original documents with you (driving licence, passport and proof of current address), as these need to be photocopied/scanned to fulfil the requirements of the regulations.

The DBS pro forma is available here.
