Abbeyfield - The Beeches

06/05/2015

The Beeches residents are now looking forward to a Spring/Summer programme of various activities, beginning in May with a ride out to the Cavendish Pavilion at Bolton Abbey for tea and cakes. At the beginning of June, the annual canal trip has been booked, which includes the ever popular fish and chip lunch!

Mary, Lynne and Annette continue to keep residents entertained with singing, craft and art classes, and a number of volunteers have received instructions on how to teach residents the use of iPads. This has already proved very successful, and, in the near future, we hope to purchase a further iPad for use at the Beeches.

The walkway has now been completed and work will commence in due course on widening the patio area and landscaping the adjacent garden. We hope to purchase a bird bath for this new area, and to arrange seating for the residents to enjoy the sunshine.

Our monthly coffee morning with home made cakes and a bric-a-brac stall is held on the last Wednesday of every month, 10am until 12 noon, and it is pleasing to see many from the village giving their support.

New volunteers are always welcome to join the team at the Beeches. If you are interested, please contact Lindsay on 01943 882430.
