Battle to prevent developments continues

18/11/2014

The current state of play with the three proposed development sites in Menston is as follows:

Bingley Road - Bradford Council is awaiting an independent review of David Rhodes' paper on groundwater emergence issues, with a decision expected on 29 January 2015.

Derry Hill - MAG has submitted documents on currently unaddressed drainage issues in preparation for a Judicial Review.

Chartford Homes (the smaller Bingley Road development) - the Department of Communities and Local Government has instructed Bradford Council not to grant permission for the development until the Secretary of State has made his own determination. Read the letter here

David Rhodes has emailed Cllr Dale Smith with details of the current situation for all three sites, and also the costs of fighting these developments. Read the email here

It is vital that further financial support is forthcoming to help ensure that these developments, with the prospect of their significant adverse effects for all in the village, never happen.
